YACHT MANDALAY FOR
WELLINGTON
Dr. Montgomery Spencer, who has bought the large ketch-rigged yacht Mandalay from Mr. George Andrews, of Redcliffs, left Wellington last night by the Rangatira, accompanied by Messrs. Jack Roberts and Wilf Beckett, to take over the yacht at Lyttelton and sail her to Wellington.
The yacht has been prepared for the iMp by Mr. Lan Treleavan, a wellknown southern yachtsman, who was with Mr. Andrews when the Mandalay visited Wellington about five years ago. Advice has been received in Wellington that the yacht dropped her moorings at 8.30 this morning, and if the southerly holds she should arrive here some time tomorrow morning.
The Mandalay will be a fine addition to the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club's fleet, and she will augment the number of larger two-masted craft in the harbour, of which, there are now almost enough to form a separate class.
