j Collegiate boxing' championships | were decided at Wellington College land at St. Patrick's College, Silveri stream, last night. In each case an ex- . cellent standard was shown by the 'boys and some very fine bouts were ' seen. j At Wellington College there was a i large attendance, and generous applause showed the spectators' appreciation of the contestants' stamina and igameness. The physical training instructor of the college, Mr. P. G. Thomson, acted as referee. The judges were Messrs. T. Brodie, F. Joplin, J. L. Dighton, and J. R. Griffin, of the college teaching staff. The announcer was Mr. T. Hislop. Among those present was the principal of the college, Mr. W. A. Armour, and Mrs. Armour. Following are the results:— "Mosquitoweight."—J. Jamieson (sst 111b) beat R. Parlane (6st lib). "Tigerweight."-- A. Glengarry ■ JfisX 61b) outpointed W. Seagar (6st 21b). Paperweight.—R. Williams (7st 51b) outpointed J. Baigent (7st 61b). Flyweight.—D. Gray (7st 71b) outpointed J. Thompson (7st 111b). Bantamweight.—D.. Barnes Bst 31b) outpointed P. Rainbird (Bst 31b>Junior Featherweight.—A. Bromley (Bst 81b). drew with J. Roberts (8&t 81b) after an extra minute. Featherweight.-R. Reeve (Bst. 131b) outpointed J. Shallcrass (Bst 101b). Junior Lightweight.-M. Metcalfe (9st 21b) outpointed R. Tremaine (9st 31 Lightweight-J. BedingfieldXQst 21b) outpointed G. Stewart (9st 121b) Middleweight.-H. Elliott lOst 51b) won on a technical knock-out in the second round from M.JHolden (lOst) Welterweight.—C. Ibbpteon (9st 91b) outpointed P. Archer (9st 111b)• ... Cruiserweight.-J. W. Scot.(list lib) outpointed T. Molesworth Ulst). Heavyweight.-C. B. Cornish (12st 81b) beat E. G. Culley U2st 81b). Kennedy, S M., announced that Dr. Roche Kelly had given a cup for the lightweight championship as an appreciation ot what the college had done for his son Father Kennedy added that Dr. Roche Kelly's son won the lightweight championship last year from L. Moore, who had won it this year, and would thus be the first to have his name engraved on the cup. .He thanked Mr. J. Donoghue for his fine work as coach and presented the following trophies:—.Most scientific boxer, Wellington Boxing Association's medal: B. Strickland. , _ Most improved boxer, McEvedy Cup: A.
