The Chinese Embassy in London reports 'that the Chinese have relieved the pressure of the Japanese advance towards the Peking-Hankow railway by retaking Kwangshan. in South Kwangchen, and killing 1000 Japanese. They also recaptured Mushihkang, in East Yanghsin. Lankanpu is still the scene of savage fighting which is holding up the Japanese. A message from Tokio states that Japanese minesweepers are pushing up the Yangtze-kiang from Tunchiacheng. Landing parties from warships have driven the Chinese to the hills near Panpishan and claim to have captured Joki, inflicting losses to the extent of 7300 killed and 14,700 wounded. This has shaken the Chinese occupancy of Tiean and Nanchang.
