THE GENERAL ELECTION
PROGRESS OF THE CAMPAIGN
LAST NIGHT'S MEETINGS
The majority of local Parliamentary candidates were in action last evening, and generally the meetings were well attended and orderly. Only in one or two instances were the services oi the police necessary to curb electors who were inclined to interject too frequently. The broadcast address was delivered by Mr. S. G. Holland, National candidate for Christchurch North, who spoke to a crowded audience at Oamaru. He received an excellent reception.
