DEATH OF A TRAINER

The death occurred last Friday of the Takanini trainer W. H. Patterson, who had not enjoyed the best of health for some time past. The deceased prepared some good winners, and notable among them were Surveyor, with whom he won the Wellington Cup and other important events, Pelham, Bustler, and Miss New Zealand. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, to whom the sympathy of the deceased's numerous friends will be extended.
