'i believe that an appearance before the Court has been punishment enough for the defendant," said Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, when Hugh Arthur Williams appeared on charges of being found unlawfully in the enclosed yard of the Mitchelltown Public School, and of offering a bribe to a constable. The defendant pleaded guilty to both charges. Senior-Sergeant D. J. O'Neill said that the defendant and a companion were found by a constable in the •grounds of the Mitchelltown School Subsequently the defendant offered money to the constable. The defendant was convicted and discharged on both counts. A Large White pedigree boar sold by I Lord Daresbury to Mr. D. B. Haynes I (Hawke's Bay) will be shipped to New Zealand via Australia. The boar is Walton King David 108 th, one of a litter of nine all of which were reared. It won fifth prize at the Royal Agricultural Show at Cardiff this summer, and took a second in Yorkshire and a first in Lancashire.
