SENTATIVES
The triennial election of five members of the Senate of the University of New Zealand by graduates registered in the General Court of Convocation toDk place yesterday. . The result of the election, however, will not be made known for a week.
Five members were to be chosen by voters from the following eight candidates:—Mrs. G. H. Benson, Messrs. F. H. Campbell (Dunedin), F. A. de la Mare (Hamilton), A. G. Flower (Christchurch), N. McK. Gibson (Auckland), W. Newlands (Dunedin), Professor G. W. yon Zedlitz (Wellington), and Mr. T. U. Wells (Auckland). All except Mrs. Benson and Messrs. Campbell and Gibson were members of the Senate as constituted in 1936.
Sealed envelopes containing voting papers were required to be delivered to the registrar in Wellington by 5 •p.m. yesterday, or posted on or before that date. The voting papers are not opened until the seventh day after the election.
