WOMEN'S GOLF

NATIONAL MEETING

A fairly strong representation of Wellington lady golfers will be competing at the, national meeting, which opens at the "Ngamotu links, New Plymouthy next Thursday. Forty-four players from,as far afield as Whangarei- and Invercargill;.will be-.participa-ting. The only notable omission from the field is Mrs. G. Hollis (Hawera), formerly Miss Oliver. Kay, -the amateur title-holder, whose health has prevented her taking part.

Among the Wellingtonians taking part will be Mrs. JD. Crombie (Wellington Club), recent winner of the Miramar Ladies'' Open Championship, and a representative in the Tasman Cup side which, visited Australia recently, Miss S. Collins (Wellington), one. of the .most.r. Promising of the youheit. players'iri the;province; Mrs. A. Slater and Mrs.:B.';Wilson (Hutt): and Mrs. D. Stout (Wellington), who are among the steadiest players in Wellington.
