MANAWATU LADIES' TOURNEY

PALMERSTON N., This Day. With members of the victorious Tasman Cup team competing and the Dominion tournament' only a week away, the Manawatu Ladies' Golf Club's annual open tournament, which commenced at Hokowhitu yesterday, has developed into a New Zealand ■ championship trial and increasing interest will be taken as the. tournament progresses. A heavy wind made the going anything but pleasant yesterday, and there were no good cards. The following qualified for the cham- [ pionship:— i Miss P. Helean (Hastings) 81 81—162 I Miss J.
