TRAFFIC OFFENCES
Cases brought by the Wellington City Council traffic department against various motorists were dealt with in the Magistrate's Court today by Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M. Mr. A. R. Cooper prosecuted on behalf of the department. Fines of 10s and costs for committing breaches of the parking regulations were imposed on Hugh Middleton Blakeley, Howard Murdoch, Antoria Randall, and Frank Woods. Clarrie Crooks was fined 10s and costs on each of two similar charges, and William McGee 15s and costs. Alan Hewett Hodson was fined £1 and costs for failing to secure a lo__d on the motor-lorry he was driving, and the Inter-Island Freight Service was fined a similar amount for overloading a motor-lorry. " For driving various classes of motor vehicles at a speed greater than that allowed by the regulations, Walter Allen, Roy Belt, Sinclair Cariruthers, Norman Alexander Carswell, Robert Forrest, and Norman Goldie were each 'fined SOs and costs. Fines of 10s and costs were imposed on Sinclair Carru'thers, Stanley Leslie Matthews, Arthur Kilkolly, and Athol Prentice for driving motor vehicles without licences. James George Rodder was fined 10s and, costs for failing to have foot-rests fitted to his motor-cycle. For l-iding a motor-cycle In a manner that might have been dangerous, Stanley Leslie Matthews was fined £2 and costs and was prohibited from obtaining a licence for three months. Athol Prentice was fined £1. and costs for driving without lights, and Cyril James Phelps was fined 10s and costs for not having the rear numberolate of his vehicle illuminated.
