FERRIER BEATS LOCKE

SYDNEY, October 5

Ar*.. exhibition golf match at Manly today between J. Ferrier, Australian amateur champion, and Bobby Locke, South African professional, was full, of sensations. Ferrier beat Locke at the thirty-seventh green.

Locke was three down at the end of the morning round after Ferrier having a commanding lead of five up at the sixteenth, in the afternoon Locke fought back grandly to square the match at the thirty-third. : They were still square at the thirty-sixth. On the thirty-seventh Locke left himself a nine-foot putt and the .ball hung on the lip of the hole. Ferrier sank a five-foot putt to win one of the most thrilling matches in years.
