At Flemington, on the course proper, Brethren and Winterset finished
[together after an impressive seven. furlongs in lmin 35sec.
On the tan Elmdale, going well, ran 1£ miles in 2min 16iseC, assisted over* the last mile in lmin 48£ sec by Hautboy. ■ Gay Romance has recovered from his leg injury sustained on Satu*rday.
At Caulfield, on the steeplechase grass, Raeburn easily beat' Netherl^a over six furlongs in lmin-.19-.ee. Othello did the best seven furlongs, lmin 29J sec, the first six in lpiin. 16isec. Espei ranto and Romford finished together at the" end of the fastest three furlo-igs, 36|sec. Keelie was impressive over six furlongs in lmin- 15$ sec. -. .
Ajax, going easily,, was' * alongside Beechwood after seven furlongs in lmin 30sec, easing up after the 'first six furlongs in lmin l_3sec.
Amigo sprinted five furlongs in lmin. Sfsec. Xavier was not extended over half a mile in 52sec.
The Trump ran nine furlongs on the sand in 2min 3sec, easing 'up after the first mile in lmin 47Jsec. Ort the tan Dannevirke did six furlongs in lmin 19sec and went well. "',
