Sir, —Who is Mr. Lee who writes so disparagingly of the pioneers! Does he not know that many of them were the finest of the fine, and endured privations no one nowadays would? Of course a few were sent out for their country's good, but even if Mr. Lee never met the right sort one would think he would have read of them— education in New Zealand is free.—l am, etc.^ pIONEEE , s daughter.
