REBELS ATTACK JEWS

HAIFA, October 3,

A hundred rebels attacked the Jewish quarters in Tiberias and perpetrated a house-to-house massacre, killing 21 Jews, including seven children.

Four of the rebels were killed and many on both sides were wounded in subsequent fighting. The rebels made a surprise attack arid shot a Jewish watchman, slaughtered men, women, and children, and set fire to a synagogue and to Government buildings.

Ten Arabs were killed and four wounded when a land mine exploded at Jaffa.

Over a hundred Arabs have been killed in the past two days as a result of encounters with Government forces.
