They traversed the first two in' 24 4-ssec, and Gay Son impressed by his effort, though he appeared to be stopping slightly at the end. Marie's Acre was doing better than Philcourt, with Trilliarch over two lengths away, at the conclusion of six furlongs in lmin 18 4-ssec, the best of the morning over the distance. The first three took 39sec, Marie's Acre then being behind the other pair, but he finished fast on the outside to run his last half-mile in 52 2-ssec. Francis Drake was allotted a round which occupied 2min 10 l-ssec, the last seven furlongs in lmin 35 3-ssec, and the final half-mile in 55 3-ssec.
