The death has occurred of Mr. Robert Edward Isaacs, aged 83, wt^ j was prominent for many years in the ! business and sporting life of Auck- [ land. Born in Melbourne, Mr. J.saacs [went to Auckland with his parents in 1 1864. After leaving school he entered ■the Post and Telegraph Department, but later resigned and joined the Union Bank of Australia, with which he served in Thames and Kumara. ' Subsequently he joined his father's business, but eventually set up in business on his own account as a ! sharebroker. Later he became a public accountant and auditor. Mr. j Isaacs retired from active business about six years ago because of ill health. ■'• ,
