FIGHTING NEAR HANKOW
HANKOW, October 1. The Chinese claim that a series of attacks by crack divisions, after two days' heavy fighting, wiped out two Japanese detachments east of Wuning, thus setting back the Japanese thrust along the Canton-Hankow railway.
