The creed having been read by-Mrs. L. Roskruge, the following musicalprogramme, was enjoyed:- Miss N. Highet, pianoforte solos; Mrs. D. Carrington, songs, accompanied by Mrs; Colebrook;- Mrs. Carrington and Mrs. Colebrook, vocal duets; and Mrs. Bishop, songs.
After afternoon tea, Mrs. HurdWood, Avho showed many pictures of Norway, spoke of the charms of that, rugged country, and its farming methods. A gradient Of one in three •Was' met on the steeper roads, :on which tourists in horse vehicles were asked to walk occasionally.' Log houses built to suit the cOld'wihters were the rule. Steam baths were taken in the country districts by the process of pouring water on heated stories; the bather then ran outside and rolled in the deep snow. - Meals and ..customs were described.. The scenery was awe-inspiring. Norwegian women seemed to have; ,iriterest .in. the same things as New Zea-. land.women. - : , A, hearty, vote of thanks to Mrs. Hurd-WOod was expressed by Mrs. R.
