"WORLD DAY FOR ANIMALS"
Next Tuesday, October *, ls "World Day for Animals." The ladies' auxiliary of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will make a special effort during the week to augment the funds being raised to provide an animal's ambulance and clinic. On Tuesday there will be a play-reading by members of the Wellington Repertory Theatre (Inc.) in their studio, first floor, Hannah's Buildings, at 8 p.m.
On Wednesday at the University Women's Club, 196 Lambton Quay, there will be a social evening with cards and music. Supper will be served, and admission will be by gifts for shop day. and a silver collection. Friday will be shop day at 254 Lambton Quay. Gifts of flowers, cakes, jams, and pickles and anything saleable may be brought to the shop from 8.15 ajn.
Friends of animals are asked to patronise the shop, and also to tell others and get them to "bring and buy."
