WELSH SOCIETY SOCIAL

The Welsh Society held a very successful social in the Green Club Rooms recently. It was an annual event when only North Wales members took part in the evening's programme. Mrs. Webber read several amusing old Welsh verses. Welsh airs were sung by Mrs. Bacon, Mrs.' Wilman, and Miss Gwen Wilman, and Mr. Jim Humphreys sang tenor solos. Prizes were won by Messrs. D. Jenkins, Thompson, and Humphreys and Mrs. Collie. A community sing of the best-known Welsh hymns followed. Accompanists were Mesdames Thompson and Wilman. A savoury supper was enjoyed.
