CITY ACCOMMODATION

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —We hear quite a lot about flats for the married people, but what is more urgent than anything else is some accommodation for single working girls. Since the inspectors were round all rents have gone up again with the increase of rates, making the price of a little single room in any reasonable locality without any cooking conveniences 15s. What is wanted here is a block of one-room and kitchenette flats for the single girls without homes. Many are trudging round after work night after night in the hope of finding a room that is reasonable and yet clean and decent, and they find it hopeless.—l am, etc.,

ONE OF THE MANY TIRED HUNTERS.
