PUSH AT TERUEL
UNEXPECTED RESISTANCE
BRITISH CONSULATE SHIFTED )
(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received January 29, 2.30 p.m.) HENDAYE, January 28. General Franco's push on the Teruel front, launched on January 17, reached a deadlock owing to stiffer Loyalist resistance than was expected.
Mr. W. J. Sullivan, British Consul at Valencia, who besides losing his cook as the result of a bomb narrowly escaped a recent bombardment, from which he took refuge in a concrete shelter, has removed the consulate to Perello, a few miles away, the safety of which is doubtful owing to its exposure to shell fire from warships. The American Consul is considering a similar move. .
