DAMAGED SLEEPERS

BLENHEIM, January 27.
A further - investigation into the weevil infestation of Australian hardwood sleepers recently imported for the South Island main trunk line is being made today by Public Works ■Department officials and Mr. R. H. Cook/forestry inspector of the New South Wales Forestry Department, and Mr. F. Blow, representative of the suppliers. The party is expected to return1 to Blenheim this evening. A report of the investigation and conference between the parties will be made to the Minister, the Hon. R. Semple.
