George Bennet Mareden, aged 21, on charges of negligently driving a motorcar, thus causing the death of Hugh Paul Hampson and of failing to stop and ascertain whether he was injured and render practical assistance, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. At an inquest.held contemporaneously with the case an open verdict was returned.
