(By Telegraph—Press Association.) ■ ' DUNEDIN, This Day.
The second Sanders' Cup race was sailed over a triangular course in a full-sail breeze. It resulted:—Welling, tori, lhr 46min losec, 1; Canterbury, lhr 47min 39sec, 2; Otago, lhr 51min 33sec, 3. Auckland and Southland,' who were far behind, withdrew halfway through the third round. The race resolved itself into a battle betweem the Wellington and Canter-^ bury- boats, the latter proving better on the wind, while Wellington more than made up the deficiency when sailing off the wind: Canterbury led round the beacon the first time, but from that point Wellington gained ground and, sailing beautifully, kept the lead to the end. Otago held in steadily, but was outsailed, while Auckland broke a shroud the third time round and retired. Southland '" also gave up at the same time.
