VIOLENT SCENE
BELGIAN CHAMBER
TWO REXISTS SUSPENDED
(Received January 28, 2.30 p.m.)
LONDON, January 27.
The Brussels correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" states that the most violent scene ever witnessed in the Chamber of Deputies occurred after a Rexist member accused the former Minister of Transport, M. Jaspar, with supplying aeroplanes to the Spanish Government. .
M. Henri Jaspar called the Rexist a rascal and then rushed and struck him in the face and threw him to the ground. The Chamber was plunged into uproar, Liberal-Socialists and Communists rushing towards the Rexist benches and engaging in a running fight; One Rexist was knocked down by a Communist and another was struck on the head with a chair.
The President temporarily suspended the sitting, and two Rexists were later expelled from the House for eight days. ■
