K. Reid,vcaptain of the yacht Wayfarer, which'is:, sheltering in Whangaroa,. states that he has. definitely decided to withdraw from the race to Hbbart and will leave Whangaroa tomorrow or on Saturday for Auckland.

■ He added that despite terrific seas comparatively'little water was shipped. At the height of the storm ~a fault developed in the steering gear, but this was soon repaired. The rest of
