YOUNG FARMERS
TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA
(Special to the "Evening Post.") PALMERSTON N., This Day.
■ Members of the team of young farmers who shortly are going to Australia to pick up knowledge there and to compete in judging competitions were farewelled at afternoon tea .in Palmerston North yesterday. The team consists of Messrs. C. M. Whitman, leader (Waimate), H. McKenzie (Carterton), A. Fisher (Carterton), A. Viles (Apiti), and A. Cowan (Apiti). They leave on : February 8, and will spend three weeks in South Australia, three weeks in New South Wales, and a week at the Royal Show, Sydney. "Mr. H. J. Lancaster, president of the Manawatu-Oroua executive of the r Young Farmers' Clubs, presided, and there were over fifty guests.
After Mr. Lancaster had welcomed everybody, Mr. B. Chrystall, representing the district executive, said the gathering marked the successful termination of an ambitious scheme. . The response had come from all over the Dominion, and he thanked the breed societies and all who had assisted. '■~
