Reader.—The best time to move the tree-ferns is in July. Lift with as large a ball of earth as possible, and after planting surround the stems with sacks, which should be kept wet. The fronds may be. cut off, as they :will die-in any case. It is very important to make the ferns very. secure, by staking if necessary. Removing the fronds, will make them less likely to be blown over.
