POUNDS OF PLASTER.
Miriam Hopkins took ten pounds of plaster on her head three times in succession for scenes in KKO-Radio's "Wise Girl" in which the .ceiling of a room is supposed to fall on her. To ensure that the plaster, which. was dropped from above her head just out of camera range, would break, a thin iron plate was fastened into the crown of the beret which Miss Hopkins wore in the scene. However, the jar of falling plaster had to be taken in, much the same manner as a fighter "rolls of!" a punch. Three takes were necessary before ' Leigh' Jason, the director was satisfied.
