The Colombo tea market was verystrong, according ' to' private advices received in Wellington. Common teas were fully • id dearer and fine teas advanced* with improving quality. • The London' market was strong and active, prices generally being dearer. There was no sale, at Calcutta.

DUNEDIN, January 26. Mr L. M.Wright has received the following cabled report on the Colombo tea auction of January 25:—At yestej-day's sale of 2£ million pounds, medium and fine ■ teas remained firm, while common grades showed a slight advance on last week's rates. Supplies are now decreasing, and 1,250,0001b have been catalogued for the'sale next week. '■'.■■■
