R. McL. Ferkins (Wellington) retained his title at the Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association's tournament yesterday, when he' defeated G. A. Pearce (Wellington) in the final of the men's championship singles, both players giving an excellent display. , Greater experience and superior court-craft enabled Mrs. A. D. Laftham (Wellington) to win the ladies' final from the brilliant young Dunedin girl, Miss M. L. Kerr. Result; of the championship matches were:—
Men's1 Singles.—R. McL. Ferkins (Wellington) beat G. A..Pearce (Wellington), -.6-1, 7-9, 6-4. ■:■■• . Ladies' Singles.—Mrs. A. D. Latham (Wellington) beat. Miss M.L. Kerr (Dunedin), 3-6, 9-7, 6-2. v ■ Men's Doubles.—P. Hawksworth and G,. Pearce beat G. S. McLeod and G. Simpson, 6-3, 6-0. ' Ladies' Singles.—Mrs. Latham and Miss Wells beat Mrs. Hawksworth and Miss Kerr, 6-1, 7-5.. . :
