LAND TAKEN

COMPENSATION SOUGHT

Compensation amounting- to £2450 was sought today in the Compensation Court by. Harry Fitzherbert Lattey, a retired indent agent, of Wellington, from the Wellington City Corporation, for land taken by proclamation on March 31, 1937, and vested in the Corporation, for street purposes. For the! land, which is in Shannon Street, £2000 was claimed, and there was also a claim for £450 for disturbance, removal, and incidental expenses. The Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) presided, and had with him as assessors Mr. J. M. Dale (for the Corporation) and Mr. H. E. Anderson (for the. claimant).

Mr. W. P. Pringle, with him Mr. R. Gilkison, appeared for the claimant, and Mr. J. O'Shea, with him Mr. J. R. Marshall, for the Corporation,
