SUNBEAM FOR TRENTHAM

Sunbeam, who was passed in at. auction for 120gs at the supplementary sales on Friday, was placed under oiler at 150gs on Saturday morning, delivery to be given after his race in the afternoon. He ran unplaced, but the deal was completed, the new owner being Mr. Allen McKenzie, of Wellington, for whom he will be trained at Trentham by A. Goodman. Sunbeam has been somewhat disappointing in his recent efforts, but hard tracks have been against him,, and he should pay his way later if softer ground is in evidence. He is a four-year-old bay gelding by Siegfried from the Australian Sun—Bunee mare Sungift, a full-sister to Sunee and a half-sister to the treble (A.J.C., V.R.C., and S.A.J.C.) St. Leger winner Belgamba, and he was originally bought by Mr. H. E. Martin on behalf of Mr. W. A. White, of Christchurch, for 160gs as a yearling.
