EXPLOSION OF'BENZINE

WANGANUI, This Day.

Fireman John Ching, single, aged 23, was admitted to hospital suffering from injuries to the eyes caused while he was attending a fire this morning at the residence of Mr. J. J. Meuli, Cai'lton Terrace. Fireman Gordon Campbell, married, aged 32, was injured in the face but after treatment at hospital returned to his headquarters at the central station. A glass jar in the washhouse containing some benzine exploded, Ching,. who was working on a branch with Campbell, getting the full force in the face.
