SERIOUS CHARGE
WOMAN TO STAND TRIAL
(By Telegraph— Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 24.
A married woman, Hazel Anne Batchelor, appeared before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court, charged with -unlawfully using an instrument on a girl aged 17 years on or about September .. 11: The accused pleaded not guilty. Evidence was given by the girl concerned, who said she visited the accused's home in the company of a young man. She told the accused she was in trpuble and an operation was performed immediately. The afteraffects of the operation required hospital treatment about a month later. The young man who accompanied the girl said he paid the accused £10. The accused was committed for trial, bail being allowed.
