FREE AMBULANCE

SUCCESSFUL "MUSICALE"

A delightful evening was spent in the social hall at the Free Ambulance building last evening when a concert 'was given in aid of the funds. The members of the ladies' auxiliary so far have made their efforts (which have been many and various) in the afternoons, but this time they decided to give an evening entertainment in order that the menkind—who are equally interested—might attend. The result was so successful that the hall accommodation was well taxed with an audience which showed sincere approval of the entertainment given. The president of the auxiliary. Lady Norwood, welcomed those present very cordially, and introduced those who gave items in the programme. There were many delightful numbers. Signor Lucein Cesaroni and Mrs. Doogan gave much-appreciated songs, Mr. Paul Magill piano solos, and Mr. de Rose a violin solo. An instrumental trio by Miss Dorothy Browning, Mr. de Rose, and Mrs. Max proved popular, and the latter played some 'cello solos also. Miss Browning was the accompanist. Miss Evelyn Goldsmith gave some recitations. All items were heartily applauded, and the performers received cordial thanks for the pleasure they had given. They were entertained at a specially-decorated table at the conclusion of the programme. Much pleasure was given by Signer Cesaroni, who expressed his interest in all that was done for the Free Ambulance, and promised to help at a later date in the way of giving a concert for the funds.

A very good home-made supper was served to the guests.
