KING AND HIS TROOPS
BRILLIANT CAVALCADE
LONDON; June 9.
The Kihg, for the first time since his accession; rbde near his troops' for the ceremony of the trooping" of the colour at the Horse; Guards Parade. Large crowds standing in the sunshine outside the Palace and along the route cheered when th.fe King, followed by the DuKes of Gloucester and Kent, trotted past oh a chestnut charger leading a Brilliantly-uriifdfmfed .cavalcade.
Queeri Mary and the little Princesses, who were enthusiastically cheered as they drove along the Mall, joined the Duchesses of Gloucester and Kent and the Princess Royal at the window above the Horse Guards Arch. "The King saluted and the Royal party then inspected the line while the band played a slow march written in the King's honour ( "Vivat George the King." An innovation was the Sovereign's escort of Life Guards passing the King while massed bands played the regimental march. Then the colour was trooped with traditional ceremony.
