The general forecast for. the Domiriion as a Whole, issued at noon today for the ensuing twenty-four hours, is for light to moderate winds generally. South-easterlies to easterlies will prevail about and to the north bf Cook Strait, while elsewhere Winds will be variable in direction, the Weather will be fair to fine generally, but at first further isolated showers or misty rain may be experienced in coastal areas between Cook Strait and East Cape. Temperatures will be cold, with many sharp irosts tonight.

An intense anticyclone continues to extend iver the New Zealand area, and the weather in mbst districts has been fine. Between Cook Strait and Bast Cape, however, it has been dull and misty with occasional showers of drizzling rain, and in that area southerly Winds.have been strong at times, although elsewhere they have been light to rrioderate only." By this morning Winds in the South Island had become more variable in direction. Temperatures have been cold everywhere, and hard.frosts were again experienced last night in iria'ny places. , Auckland's weather yesterday was brilliantly fine with a gentle southerly breeze. A few light showers fell during the night; totalling two points of rain, but the' weather this morning was again fine. Wellington had a cold and raw day, with a fresh southerly wind and occasional light showers. Hours of bright sunshine totalled 2.4, and seven points of. rain were recorded.

In Christchurch it was mostly cloudy with occasional light shower's, and there was a cold south-westerly .breeze. The night was clear, however, arid,a frost of ten degrees was recorded.. At 9'a.m; today the weather was fine and hazy with a gentle breeze from the north-riorth-east.

Dunedin's weather yesterday was fine arid calm, the morning being rather cloudy, and it was still, fine there this morning. .. ,
