MATCH AT GREYMOUTH

GREYMOUTH, June 9.
The West Coast Rugby representatives defeated Canterbury by 23 points to 14 before 3500 spectators. The match was played under ideal conditions. The visitors were superior serummers and: also passed and combined better than the Coasters, who largely adopted defensive methods but fully used occasional scoring opportunities. The half-time score was 11----all. Tries for the winners were scored by Gilbert, Agnew, Davidson, and King, Gilbert converting two tries and kicking a penalty,- and Hendry potted a goal. Scorers of tries for Canterbury were Chinhery (2), Hooper, and Rankin. The Canterbury hooker was often penalised for ■ lifting.
