HEMP AND TOW GRADINGS.
The quantities of hemp and tow graded at the ports of the Dominion in May are reported as follows by the chief hemp grader (Mr. W..Petrie):— Hemp, 2183 bales, a decrease of 1463 bales on May, 193G; tow, 211 bales, a decrease of 256.
Eggs were quoted on the Wellington wholesale market today at 2s 3d a dozen for B grade, 2s 5d for A grade, and 2s Od for specials.
W. A. Mitson and Co., secretaries of the Okarito Five-mile Beach Gold Dredging Company, Limited, report that the wash-up for the week ended Saturday, June 5, was 330z lOdwt, for 128 hours' dredging.
