An Intense anticyclone sitll covers the Tasma Sea and extends orer the Dominion. Southeasterly or southerly winds prevailed yesterday and were strong at times in the Cook Strait area and on parts of the east coast of the North Island, but otherwise they have been light or moderate, and by this mornIng directions had become more variable south of "Westport .and Cape Campbell. Dull, misty conditions with occasional light rain have continued to prevail between Cook Strait and East Cape, while elsewhere the weather has been generally fine though temperatures have been cold everywhere, further sharp frosts occurring last night at many places.
