GAS SAFETY

THE NEW GERMAN MASK

(Received June 10, 1 p.m.)

BERLIN, June 9.

The "people's gas mask," now available at a cheap price, is claimed to be the last word in anti-gas devices. It is simple in construction, and differs, from the wartime gas mask in the absence of the box attachment and the flexible breathing tube. A small one-way filter fits directly on to the mouthpiece. Spectacles may be worn under the mask. Those wearing a beard are notified that they need not trim it to less than the length of a long hand. The mask will be supplied in three sizes, for men, women, and children. The fabric is synthetic rubber. The Mask can be adjusted with one movement of the hand.

Recipients will be invited to enter a gas chamber to convince themselves of its efficacy.
