LONDON, June 8.
The principal delegates to the Imperial Conference this morning completed iheir discussion of Mr. J. A, Lyons's Pacific Pact project.
Mr. Lyons informed the Conference that he would be discussing the plan with Mr. Yoshida, the' Japanese Ambassador, this afternoon.
It is understood that diplomatic channels are now formulating proposals and that when they are completed further interchanges of views between England and the Dominions will follow before definite approaches are made to the Pacific Powers. This is not likely to happen until well after the termination of the Conference.
The "Morning Post," commenting in a leading article on Mr. Lyons's proposal, remarks that if it could be achieved it would indeed be a signal stroke of policy. Mr. Lyons deserves high credit for bringing the idea to the threshold of practical politics, but it is necessary to realise that its fulfilment depends on many factors beyond the Empire's control, 'it should be the aim of British foreign policy to remove whatever obstacles there are in the way. .
