MUNICIPAL GOLF CHARGES
(To the Editor.)
Sir",—On going to the municipal golf links last Sunday I was surprised to find the charges increased to 2s per round. It would be interesting to know what power there is for this. The Town Belt was wisely set aside as the people's playground, and was certainly never intended as a moneymaking concern. Fees on the learners' links have also been increased, and this falls with undue severity on the large class of young people to whom one shilling per round on such a short course is a considerable item. If the reserves committee care to consult the custodian, I'am sure he will say that the majority are young persons. Golfers are good sportsmen and do not object to paying a reasonable fee, but the latest is an imposition and it is to be hoped that the decision will speedily receive further review.— l am, etc-
■TYMIED.
