DRAW FROM HAT
ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN
AUCKLAND HARBOUR BOARD
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, June 8,
The election of a new chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board was decided by the drawing of a ballot paper from a member's hat. The luck of the draw gave the position to the Hon. T. Bloodworth, M.L.C., who has been a member of the board since 1923.
When the ballot papers were counted it was found that Mi. Bloodworlh and the other candidate, Mr. R. T. Reid, had each received seven votes. Two ballot papers were therefore placed in the hat and the one bearing the new chairman's name was drawn out.
