Representatives of Australia, New Zealand, England, Germany, Soutl* Africa, the Irish Free State, the United States, Argentina, and Norway have signed a whaling agreement providing for a nine months' close season for pelagic whaling and also absolute prohibition of whaling in certain areas. Certain species of whale and all whale calves are protected absolutely.
