SIEGE OF MADRID
HEAVY BOMBARDMENT
LONDON, June 8.
It is reported from Madrid that the insurgents launched the heaviest night bombardment since the siege began, 160 shells exploding in an hour. The number of victims is not yet known. There are scores of wounded.
The Valencia Government has ordered the mobilisation of all able-bodied men of the 1932-36 classes, and is also requisitioning all grain.
