PEOPLE'S SAVINGS

£2984 PER HEAD IN BRITAIN

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 6. At a meeting of the National Saving Assembly, Lord Mottistone said that the total amount now invested in national savings was £1,384,000,000, or £29 8s 4d per head of the population. He read a message from the King warmly congratulating the many thousands of voluntary workers in the movement upon their great achievements on behalf of national well-being. The message added that the movement had become one of the most beneficent influences in the national life, and its work among young people was particularly commended.
