MOTOR COLLISIONS
.MARLBOROUGH ACCIDENTS

BLENHEIM, This Day. Two motor collisions occurred on the Blenheim-Seddon highway between Hiverlands and the Dashwood deviation during Saturday night. In both cases extensive damage was done to the vehicles concerned.
The driver of one of the cars, Miss P. Limbrick, of Seddon, suffered concussion and severe facial injuries which necessitated her removal to hospital. The remainder of those involved had remarkable escapes, receiving only bruises and minor abrasions.
The first mishap occurred ; shortly after eight o'clock on a straight stretch of road at Riverlands about 600 yards on the Blenheim side of the turn off to the Dashwood deviation. Miss Ximbrick, who was driving a big sedan car, was proceeding towards Blenheim and the " other vehicle, a light motor truck, was being driven in the opposite direction by Thomas •Archibald, of Ward. The force of the impact was very severe, the vehicles meeting practically head on. The side of Miss Limbrick's car was completely torn off and dumped in a twisted heap at the rear. One front wheel was wrenched off" and the front portion of the vehicle was badly crumpled. The truck was also extensively damaged. After the impact it went on for about 30 feet and came to rest upside down behind the other. car. .
Miss Limbrick regained consciousness some time after her admission to hospital.
The second accident occurred at about midnight. A motor-cycle ridden by a youth named Gordon Sigglekow was involved in a head on collision with a car driven by H. Bainey, of Kaikoura. The vehicles were interlocked and rolled over a steep bank. Sigglekow was thrown clear before his machine left the road, but he received minor injuries and was admitted to-hospiteJ- • '
